Articles of interest about mo'time, the blogosphere, culture and society
"Pardon our dust, for dig we must": Thanks for your patience. Read the status blog for more info.
![]() | Blogs at work: One more trend that I'm reading about these days is the business of business blogs. I'm speaking about blogs used inside companies as a communications tool within the corporate structure. You won't find many (any?) on mo’time because, by their nature, they live on private computer networks. |
But here's the idea that I found most interesting: "The promise of weblogs in the organization is that they help us get more accustomed to flow. The threat they pose is the same thing; they work against those who are more comfortable with control than with performance." -- James Mcgee [ Read more...] "To really get into weblogs as a writer, try to keep moving to stay with the flow. The old advice to a budding jazz musicians applies: If you make a mistake and hit a bad note, don't stop! Hit it again and keep going. Too much worrying will make a burden of posting, making work of what should be fun." -- Andrew Grumet [ Read more...] | |

![]() | Let's see how it goes: Look down near the bottom of the left-side menu... There you will find our inaugural poll (mo'poll?), about, um, having polls on mo'time -- Are they Good, Bad or Ugly? ;o) Comments can also be left on the poll itself. |

Blogs go back to school, too: Clicking around the site, I have noticed an interesting use of weblogs -- as a classroom tool. There are blogs that simply list the day's homework assignments, blogs that allow teachers to communicate with parents, blogs that facilitate class discussions, blogs that present student work and even a blog for kids from Chicago and South Africa to talk about books with each other. For those interested, I have collected a few links to blogs of this type. |
| Note: Have you noticed any other quirky uses of the weblog? Please comment... |
![]() | Does this icon look familiar? If it doesn't, it soon will. You'll see it under the visitor counter on all mo’time blogs, (where the template was not modified). It has a simple yet powerful purpose. Clicking on the button lets blog visitors quickly subscribe to the blogs that they follow. If you've modified your template, or just don't see it on your blog, it's really very easy; to place it. Just reload your template from the control panel or paste the tag <$BlogSubscribeButton$> where you want the button to appear. Read about it here. |
