New post editor!

Macintosh users, Linux aficionados and lovers of Firefox and Mozilla, on any operating system, now have a full-featured blog editor to format their posts, just as IE users on Windows have had from the start. (Sorry, you Safari habitués, you'll have to use Mozilla or Firefox to use the Mo'time editor...) It may be a bit slow upon first loading, but after that it should appear relatively quickly.

(The editor was not compatible with pop-up comments on Internet Explorer/Windows, so we had to take that part down for now. )

Download Firefox (recommended) here. Download Mozilla here.

I just started "blogging" this week and I use firefox most of the time. I was trying to do html yesterday (It wasn't pretty) and then I had the nice suprise today of a window full of options when I wanted to update a post. Thank You! You have made my life easier. You have an awesome site going here...

on some older blogs that have not rolled over to the new motime, when comments pop-up i see this new comment editor going all the way to the top and blocking off other people's comments... that probably needs to be fixed or the old blogs should rollover to incorporate new motime features such as the "same post/comment page" feature.

* takes a bow *

Actually the guy who did a helluva lot of work to implement this editor is named Stefano. Can we get a round of applause for him????

I'll start, YAY Stefano!

ah yes, Howard thanks for the update. I thought the browsers on my machine are the only ones that've been acting strange about this comment editor thingamajig.

Love the changes to the browser; but, when will Safari get its turn? Is there some other way to write my blog and upload it, rather than having to be live each time? I am almost never around a great connection, and when I am I have already missed my blogging opportunity--hence the absence of any real blogs from me lately. . . .

Hey Neal, from one Mac user to another, I feel your pain! Safari is based on a different engine and it proved impossible to find a technology that worked in Safari as well as Internet Explorer and Firefox/Mozilla. Since you can use the latter two on the Mac, we were happy to finally offer a true cross-platform editor. So, it would behoove to download and use Firefox for posting to mo'time... I'm pretty happy with it. There are also a bunch of cool plug-ins for Firefox.

As for blogging offline, just open up your favorite word processor and do your writing offline. When you're happy with your post, select all, copy --- log-in to motime, open your blog editor and Paste. voilĂ .

I hope that is what you meant...and will get you posting again!

Howard, thanks. I'm using
Mozilla at the moment, but my try Firefox as it seems to have improved
lately. I do use a wordprocessor sometimes to write and then cut and
paste, but it is never the same. I might try to see what iBlog will do.
I journal in a Filemaker 7 file for work, but I have yet to have time
to write a script to take the text and date from there and insert it
elsewhere. I am back blogging so check me out.

Something must've changed on your side, the editor had been working. Anyway, welcome to motime, I look forward to reading your blog when it gets going...
