Spellchecking your posts

For those of you who have been wanting a spellchecker for your blog posts, I have found a couple of tools to help you out, Spellbound (multi-language) for Firefox and Mozilla, and ieSpell (English only) for Internet Explorer under Windows.

Firefox/Mozilla: First download Firefox (recommended) or Mozilla. Then, using Firefox or Mozilla, go to the installation page and install Spellbound. Quit and restart your browser.

Go to the Mozilla dictionary page to choose your local language and follow the installation instructions.

Now all that remains is to place the Spellbound button in your browser’s toolbar. Read the instructions here, but if you want a quick start, read on: under the View menu, choose Toolbar->Customize. You may have to scroll the window to see the Spellbound icon. Click and drag the icon to the horizontal icon bar in your browser. You should now see the Spellbound button everytime you open your browser.

To use the spellchecker, when you put your cursor in the text area in which you have typed your post, and then click the Spellbound button, the spellchecker will load. It works just like the one you have in your word processor.

Internet Explorer/Windows: go to the ieSpell homepage to read about this extension. Download ieSpell and follow the instructions via the installation and usage links on the same page.

I hope this provides a decent solution for those of you have always wanted spellchecking on mo’time.

Spell checking!! I spit on your spell checker. Spontangeous me. I want to let it all hang out and if I misspell, mis-punctuate, so be it. I have more important things to worry about then spelling, grammar or logical consistency.

[Ed. note: Luckily mo'time is equipped with spit guards (similar to those found at some salad bars), so there was no damage done.]
