Comment update

Comments, in both popup and same page styles, are now numbered and these numbers are the "permalinks" to the comment. (If you have not posted, modified your template or received a comment since the update, you will not see them. As soon as one of those events occurs, voilà, they will appear.)

For those of you fond of playing with your CSS (no snickering, please), you can change the style of the numbers by creating the class "comment-counter" in the style section of your template.

In the future, help questions should be posted on the help blog... In the meanwhile you can solve your problem by follow these instructions:

Yeah, sorry, this sometimes happens, but there are a series of things you can do to fix it...here they are in ease-of-use order:

If you are in Windows, with the post editor opened, hold down the Control key and then type F5 (CTRL+F5). Now try.

If that does not work, close ALL mo'time windows, this is a VERY important detail that must be followed, and (in Internet Explorer) delete your Temporary Internet Files (Tools>Internet Options>General menu) *including* offline files (when the popup warning pops) and try again. Follow all instructions to the letter. Details are important.

In Firefox the procedure is the same except it's called clearing the cache under the preferences menu.

If neither of those work, try this:

close all mo'time windows as before and empty the files again.

do not go to motime -- go to this page:

demo editor

wait for the editor to load. Type something and click the submit button. Press Control and F5.

Now go back to motime and try again.

Please tell me what happens in detail if none of these things work. And tell me what operating system and version you are using and what version of what browser, too.

Sorry, there is no way to paste in a whole blog. The best thing to do is to start a new one here and place a prominent link on your Mo'time to your old blog (under the archive section).

The numbers are no longer permalinks on my blog. Odd? Template Issue?

jofrog16: As far as I know, on the popup style comments (on older templates) never had permalink numbers. It doesn't make sense to have them anyway because you cannot get to the popup comment via a link or URL pasted into the browser. You MUST go the post and click the comment link to read the comments. In other words, permalinks simply don't work for popup style comments.

you have messed up your template code so that the permalink no longer works. Please post this question to the template blog, thanks, because this question has to do with your customized template code.
