Articles of interest about mo'time, the blogosphere, culture and society
This morning I found an email entitled, "Your password has been successfully updated" in my email box, that was made to appear as if it was mailed by Mo'time. It was not. And it contained a virus-carrying attachment. We never send you unrequested email unless there are very special circumstances and NEVER include attachments.
This was very well done, and even included a salutation with my real username. Here's what it said:
"Dear user howard, You have successfully updated the password of your Motime account. If you did not authorize this change or if you need assistance with your account, please contact Motime customer service at: info@motime.com. Thank you for using Motime! The Motime Support Team"
The attachment was named, "account-password.zip", accompanied by a footer in the email indicating that it had been scanned and was virus-free.
Repeat: Mo'time does not send you emails with attachments. Please let me know if you receive such emails, thanks, and do not open those attachments.
