Audio & "files" uploading added!

Step by step, slowly I turn... ooops wrong show.

It is now possible to upload photos and images, audio clips, videos and any other kind of file that you wish to share with others on your blog. If you look at your logged-in home page, under the Blogs heading, you will see the new Multimedia heading. You will see little icons indicating the kind of file that you would like to add to your blog:

add-photo add audio add video add file

There is also a new tab Multimedia up on top alongside Blogs, Community and Account. Clicking on that will bring you to your control panels for managing all your media files and your automatically created "Mediablog".

Adding multimedia is now as simple as pointing and clicking on the icons and following the instructions. These files can then be posted directly to your blog or just kept in your albums and mediablog for  browsing. You can keep your albums public or choose to hide ones that you wish to remain private.

You will also notice all the multimedia icons also in your blog editor, making it easy to add new media files or post ones that you have already uploaded to your blog posts. You have 5MB's of space to start out with. We hope to be able to double that very soon and to then offer premium plans for those who want to to upload even larger files.

Don't forget to update you profile picture, aka avatar, right now...

Remember, you must be using one of these browsers for these functions to work: Internet Explorer, Firefox, Mozilla or Camino.

Howard, help. I'm used to having Photobucket open at the same time as Motime, and just copy and pasting. I've uploaded a zillion photos, piece of cake -- but getting them into blog is a nightmare. I copy their code number, and get a blank square. Somehow managed to get one in but couldn't repeat, it wanted to make a new posting out of everything. Can you give us the media on an extra screen, and tell idiots like me how to get them from a into b, please. Happy New Year early. Thanks for all the new goodies.

MaryKathryn, I'm not sure what your question is, but you should ask it in more detail>help blog rather than here. In any case, the easiest way to post a photo in your blog is to open the editor and click the icon that you see there.

howard, when i'm logged-in home page, i see the new Multimedia heading and i uploaded 1 photo... so far, i have 1 photo but no comments on that 1 photo. under multimedia, "1 post / 3 comments" shows up -- 1 post equals the 1 photo i uploaded, but 3 comments are not comments made on my photo, but instead those are 3 comments i've made on other people's picture/audio/video posts.

my question is "why don't the # of comments represent the comments on our own photos?

Ooh, I have tried twice to post a video but it won't work and I'm running out of upload allowance. It's a QT .mov. Can we only upload MPEGs?

perhaps the size of the video file is too big?

2.71 MB so definitely under the limit, but I am using Firefox...
If that's the prob I could easily do it with IE :(

When it doesn't upload it says I selected an invalid file or a size larger than 5mb.

When it does upload, I get a broken image icon and the message that the file is unavailable.

Sorry for asking for troubleshooting here but I'm not a heavy enough user to join the Help blog...

I just invited you to the help blog, the appropriate place to discuss this. It should work with FF too, but you should definitely try with IE, just to see.
