(Mo') Time to move on

As some of you know, I have been the guardian angel of this site since its launch in 2003. For a variety of practical and logistical reasons, Mo'time remained a sort of side project for the small team that created it -- you see we also ran the Italian version of the platform, it quickly became a huge success and it was all we could do to keep up with the technical and service issues.

Nonetheless Mo'time is our cherished child and we made a commitment to keep it going no matter what!

Continuing the recap, we sold the whole kit and kaboodle in 2006 and I stayed on as a volunteer webmaster of Mo'time and took on other jobs. During this time Mo'time remained in a sort of time capsule until the latest update of the platform. Now it has been shifted to another business unit, Blogo.it, and will finally be given a new lease on life.

It is time for this cowboy, however, to move on. I am hereby handing over the keys to Blogo.it and to new webmistress, lucyblade. I will leave it to her to introduce herself. Be patient, as it will certainly take her some time to get up to speed. Please address all your Mo'mails for help and bug reports to her. She will be monitoring the help blog and, above all, The Motimes blog that has become our defacto forum for all things Motimish.

It has been an honor (honour, for those who may feel slighted by the other spelling) being a sort of shepherd here. And I thank *you all* for the incredible bonds that have been created and maintained on these pages. I will not be going anywhere in terms of Pongomania and a member of this community. I'll still be around, just no longer as the fix-it guy and as a constant presence.

Love and kisses,

-H

Thank goodness for Rusty's assessment of the situation. I must say, Howard, it does seem odd to not have you as Webmaster. I remember when Mo'time as in its first year and you would personally welcome bloggers. Your first comment to me was on a story I wrote on my old blog. And look - we became friends. Congratulations on making Mo'time such as success that someone wanted to buy it.

Pero, spero di vederti spesso qui, perche non sarebbe lo stesso, giuro. TVB!

Mo' clay in your life, and no mo' posting problems. I can't say I disagree with your reasoning. Thank you, sir, you're one of a kind, and you have managed to give Mo'Time a human side that simply doesn't exist anywhere else on the internet. I'm glad to hear you're not actually leaving our world. Let's just see if this whippersnapper Lucyblade can carry your baggage. Best of luck to both of you.

Dear Howard
Thanks for shepherding us so well. I know that we have areas of painful disagreement but you never let emotion affect your professionalism and in the fragile web of internet contact you have helped us weave, having such a spirit at the helm has been reassuring. Thems big shoes for Lucyblade to step into....
May we look forward to an outburst of creative clay-working?
Thanks
Frewin

it's all been said already - as long as you keep pongo-ing, i'm happy. i'd be more distressed if this message was more along the lines of "to hell with you all and your infernal bloginess! i'm leaving!"

anyway, good luck with new endeavors and lets see more pongo people!

Howard, you are a large part of what makes Motime, well, Motime, so you can't leave us, you see, since your presence is everywhere and constant, whether you're "here" or not. Many thanks for ALL the help you've given me over the years.

What bittersweet news I returned to! Howard, as it's been said many times, thank you for all that you've done for Mo'time and for us personally as bloggers. This community wouldn't have thrived without you. I do hope this means you get more time to do pongo? :)

sniff, sniff, hug, hug, kiss, kiss!

I hope to do more Pongo, but I will predict that the output will be roughly the same -- since I do have to, um, work...

Hey Howard. News travels a little more slowly across the vast and untamed internet, and I only just heard. Thank you for all the kindness and help over the years, my friend. Sorry to see you go, but glad you're not actually going very far, and hope to see you again around here at irregular and unpredictable intervals, as usual.

Hi, Howard!
I just found out that you're not our "dear and very reliable" webmaster any longer. I'll miss you very much.
I just want to "thank you" for all the great and always very timely support you gave me and my educational blogs along the years.
I'm glad you aren't leaving, though.
Welcome, Lucy!  :-)
Hugs,   Teresa (in the Lisbon area, Portugal)
